Color My Kitchen

Hey followers!

My aunt just launched her new food / lifestyle blog, and you should definitely check it out.  If you’re looking to re-create the chill, fresh-ingredient feel of So-Cal cooking in time for warmer weather, the site is a refreshing find.

Nice Gesture! - Last night a former client of mine and his girlfriend had me over for dinner (pumpkin soup with toasted pumpkin seeds and a drizzle of pumpkin seed oil - very fitting for an autumn evening), and they regaled me with stories of their recent trip to California.  Hearing about their adventures brought back tons of old memories, or “memory-go-backs” as we call them in my family, and seeing their photos made me a bit homesick.
They were kind enough to bring me back a box of Cheez-Its and a big box of Ziploc bags.  You know how much I love Ziploc bags!

Things that make me smile:
I came across this advertisement yesterday while walking through Votivpark near the Votivkirche/Schottentor.
The picture was taken at Cafe Goldegg, which is a few blocks from my apartment in the 4th.  I smiled when I saw it because - first of all, what are the chances I would recognize the interior of one of the 6,000 cafes in Vienna - and second, because the corner booth is where Andy and I spent a couple hours when he was here in May.
Cafe Goldegg, by the way, is the ultimate shabby-chic ‘faded glory’ Viennese coffee house.  Highly recommended.
